Build the bed that fits the ground and the gardener

Check what lies below, how far you can reach, where the hose runs and how much wet soil the site can carry.

Measure before the soil arrives.
Before you order

Check the ground, reach and soil volume first.

Probe the base, measure how far you can comfortably reach and calculate the finished soil volume. Those answers shape the depth, width and delivery.

  • Open ground may give roots room below the frame.
  • Concrete or another hard, impermeable surface means the bed must hold the full usable root zone.
  • Extra height can reduce bending, but it adds fill and wet weight.
